The Foster Grandparents Program gives the opportunity for loving seniors to visit and assist disabled children. The Foster Grandparent commits to caring for a child up to 40 hours-per-week. The Foster Grandparent program is designed to offer low income seniors an opportunity to spend up to 40 hours weekly in volunteer service to their Burlington County community. The program recruits, trains, and places seniors in licensed child care agencies serving children with special needs. The program offers the Foster Grandparent a renewed sense of dignity through their volunteer efforts to enhance the emotional, social and educational development of the children they serve. Through the program, the Foster Grandparent seniors receive: tax-free hourly stipend, transportation reimbursement, nutritious daily meal, orientation and monthly in-service training, and accident & liability insurance. Meetings are open to all and new grandparents are welcome.
